Much is already known about the HTC M8 thanks to a number of leaks over the past few weeks. Images of the device have been scarcer but that appears to have been remedied today courtesy of @htcfamily_ru.
As previously reported, the HTC M8 shares much in common with its predecessor, the HTC One. But the picture of the back of the device also reveals a few differences. It effectively confirms earlier rumours of a dual sensor camera along with a dual-LED flash. When the first images surfaced, the thought was that the HTC M8 would come with a fingerprint scanner but that now appears in doubt unless HTC has managed to put it on the front of the device.
The HTC M8 is also expected to come with a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, Android 4.4 KitKat with HTC Sense 6.0, a 5-inch Full HD (1920×1080) and 2GB or 3GB of RAM.
It is still not clear what name the HTC M8 will launch with. Rumours have suggested the HTC One 2 and the HTC One+ as possibilities. Let us know if you like these names in our latest poll.
At last word, HTC could launch the HTC M8 in late March with the unveiling set to take place in New York City.
Update: No less than HTC Benelux Regional Director Mark Moons has dismissed this image as a fake. In a tweet, he simply said, “Somebody has been photo shopping….”
On a more positive note, Moons does not specifically shoot down the rumour of a dual-sensor camera on the HTC M8, just this image.
