HTC used dedicated events in both New York City and London earlier this year to unveil the HTC One (M8). Despite two major trade shows (CES and MWC) coming up, it appears that HTC will once again go at it alone with an announcement falling outside of these events. According to @upleaks, the HTC Hima, the codename by which we know the new flagship smartphone, will get its own “special event:”

Given that @upleaks had earlier suggested a March announcement, we can expect HTC to unveil its new flagship around the same time it unveiled the HTC One (M8) this year.
Little is known about the HTC Hima at this point. Past rumours have provided conflicting details. One rumour suggests it will come with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, a 5-inch Full HD (1080×1920) display and a 20.7MP rear camera. A separate rumour suggests a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, a 5.5-inch WQHD (2560×1440) display and a 16MP rear camera with OIS. Both rumours agree though that the device will come with Android 5.0 Lollipop, 3GB of RAM and a rear camera that does not use UltraPixel technology.
As for colours, @upleaks suggest we will see the return of the Gray, Silver and Gold, hues that we’ve already seen on HTC devices.
