Just days after leaked press renders suggested that HTC was about to unveil its latest device, the company today announced the HTC One mini 2. Much as last year’s HTC One mini was a scaled down version of the original HTC One, the HTC One mini 2 is a smaller sibling to this year’s HTC One (M8). One key difference between the two is that the HTC One mini 2 will not sport the new Duo Camera with dual sensors but a 13MP single-sensor one instead. As we saw last year, a number of other specifications have been downgraded, likely in a bid to reduce the price. It does hold on to the metal body (albeit not the unibody design) that has earned many accolades for the HTC One line.
“The latest member of the award-winning HTC One family distills the advanced features that have earned it global acclaim, into an elegant, compact handset”, said Peter Chou, CEO of HTC Corporation. “Its size and tapered edges fit perfectly in a hand, pocket or purse, making it look great and feel even better to use. It’s the perfect choice for those who love the iconic design of the HTC One (M8) yet want something more compact.”
