Raise your hand if you’ve ever missed your stop on the bus or subway because you got too deep into your book or simply fell asleep (from too much studying the night before or perhaps a few too many libations). It turns out that missing stops and realizing it either a few stops later or at the end of the line when the driver shakes you awake happens rather frequently. Knowing that, Google has now added a new alarm to Google Now that will alert you when you reach your stop.
The new alarm is contextually aware and only appears when you’re using public transportation. If you have saved locations for your work and home, the alarm will pop up and you can choose to activate it so that you’re alerted when you get to your stop.
The new alarm appears to work completely independently of the stock Android Clock’s own alarms. It appears only on Google Now and can only be activated and deactivated.
The feature was first spotted in the Netherlands. It’s not clear at this point where else it is available.
Drop us a note below and let us know what city you’re in if you see the feature when you’re riding public transit.
