Quite the day for event announcements today! After announcements by LG and Motorola earlier today, Google and Intel have announced that they will host a media event in San Francisco on May 6, 2014. The focus will be on Chrome OS. Both Google’s Caesar Sengupta, Google vice president of product management for Chrome OS, and Navin Shenoy, Intel vice president and general manager of the mobile computing group will be on hand to make the announcement and take questions from attendees.
As for what will be announced, only a few details are available. The invitation does indicate that there will be on-site demonstrations of new Chrome products. With Intel at the event, we could hear something about new processors for Chrome OS devices. Updates from Intel partners also suggests that new devices will be announced.
For its part, Google will presumably announce some new features for Chrome OS.
The last time Google and Intel held a joint Chrome OS event, they announced new Chrome OS devices from Acer, ASUS, HP and Toshiba.
