Things are about to get serious at the World Cup. The Group stage is over and we are moving into the Knockout Stage tomorrow. No matter what team you support, Google today made it easy to show your support for your favourite team with AutoAwesome.
Instead of getting your hands dirty with face paint (the ultimate sign of team allegiance), you can paint your favorite team’s country flag onto a photo of you and your friends. No need to go all the way to Brazil to shout out loud who you want to win.
To do so is very simple:
- Take a photo of yourself and up to 4 friends who’d like their faces painted
- Share it on Google+ with the hashtag #PaintFrance or any other country in the knockout round. Google has provided a list of all the English and local hashtags necessary to make the transformation happen.
- After a few minutes check back in your stream. The faces will be painted with the country flag of your choice
I’m not one for selfies but this is the World Cup after all. Canada unfortunately did not qualify but France (where I was born) finished at the top of its group. Time to get ready for that match on Monday! Allez les Bleus!
