BlackBerry formally unveiled the BlackBerry Z3, Jakarta Edition at a launch event today in Jakarta, Indonesia. Already available for pre-order since late May, it will finally go on sale in Indonesia on May 15. The BlackBerry Z3 is the first device to emerge from BlackBerry’s partnership with Foxconn and is billed as the first BlackBerry to be “Built for Indonesia.” It will be carried by both Indosat and XL.

The BlackBerry Z3 will sell for IDR2,199,000 (about CA$210). It will be available at all BlackBerry Lifestyle stores in Indonesia as well as authorized partners for BlackBerry Z3, PT. Teletama Artha Mandiri (TAM) and PT. Mitra Telekomunikasi Selular (MTS).
BlackBerry does have larger aspirations for the BlackBerry Z3 and it will likely eventually launch in other markets. An LTE model is also planned and could be headed to North America later.
