BlackBerry OS 10.2.1.3175 update begins rolling out

BlackBerry 10 logoBlackBerry today announced that it has begun to push out a new update for BlackBerry 10. The update leaves BlackBerry OS at version 10.2.1 but bumps the build number up to 10.2.1.3175. As you would expect from an update that barely bumps up the version number, it is not a major update. Still, it does add a couple of “subtle new features for you to enjoy.”

According to BlackBerry, BlackBerry 10.2.1.3175 comes with

  • Support for 64GB and higher exFAT MicroSD so you can store and enjoy more photos, music and files to your BlackBerry 10 device
  • Bluetooth reliability enhancements
  • Improved media functions
  • Browser improvements
  • And more

Best of all, Canada is among the markets where the BlackBerry OS 10.2.1.3175 update rollout is already underway. The EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and Asia Pacific regions are also part of the first wave. Latin America will follow in mid-June with deployment in the U.S. to start in late June. As always, the caveat that  the rollout is dependent on carrier availability applies.

The next major version of BlackBerry 10 will be BlackBerry 10.3. It is expected before the end of the year.
