If you did not score an invite to BlackBerry’s event today, you will be able to catch the whole event online. BlackBerry will livestream the event starting at 0900 EDT. BlackBerry’s unveiling will take place at three simultaneous events in Toronto, Dubai and London.
BlackBerry has already teased a number of details about the BlackBerry Passport. It featured the new smartphone’s touch-enabled keyboard and square 4.5-inch Full HD-class (1,440×1,440) display in past posts on the company’s blog. BlackBerry also confirmed that it will come in both black and white.
We still don’t have full details of the specifications but rumours suggest it will come with a 2.2 quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage with expansion via microSD cards, a 13MP AF rear camera with OIS and a 3.450mAh battery. It should also come with BlackBerry 10.3 which will bring the Amazon Appstore and some 240,000 apps to the BlackBerry platform as well as BlackBerry’s own BlackBerry Assistant, its take on the personal digital assistant.
BlackBerry CEO John Chen earlier this week said that the BlackBerry Passport will sell for US$599. We should find out details about carriers and Canadian pricing during today’s event.
You will be able to catch today’s event on BlackBerry’s events website.
