BlackBerry will formally unveil its BlackBerry Classic at an event on December 17. That has not stopped it from already putting it up for pre-order on its ShopBlackBerry website. It now looks like Canadian carriers will not wait to announce their plans for the latst BlackBerry smartphone. Bell Mobility now lists the BlackBerry Classic as “coming soon” on its website.
BlackBerry has not yet unveiled all the specifications of the BlackBerry Classic but a few details have been revealed. It will be powered by BlackBerry OS 10.3.1 and will support both LTE (FD-LTE bands 1, 2/25, 4, 5, 7, 13, 17) and HSPA+ (HSPA bands 1,2,4,5/6) connectivity. It will have a 3.5-inch display and a physical QWERTY keyboard as well as the iconic BlackBerry button belt with ‘Menu,’ ‘Back,’ ‘Send’ and ‘End’ buttons as well as the trackpad.
Bell has not revealed pricing or specific details but these details should come to light on December 17. It is listed at CA$499/US$449 on ShopBlackBerry so expect Bell’s contract-free price to fall in that range.
