We’re a few days behind on this one but Moto G Google Play edition owners should soon be able to upgrade their devices to Android 4.4.4 KitKat if they have not already done so. The build number, KTU84P, is the same as it was for Nexus devices.
Android 4.4.4 which follows quickly after Android 4.4.3 is a small update that focuses on a number of security fixes, including one bug that can leave you vulnerable to a man-in-the-middle type of attack.
If you have yet to receive the update notification, you can check manually for it via Settings -> About phone (or tablet) -> System Updates -> Check now but it may still be a few days before you see it. You can also manually update your device using the following update file:
The Android 4.4.4 update is already rolling out to Nexus devices, a number of Sony Xperia smartphones and other devices.
