A number of recent signs have suggested that Android 4.4.3 is not far from being released. Expected to be a maintenance release that will not include any new features but a number of bug fixes and tweaks, we have seen signs of it on the benchmarks for the Motorola XT912A, in updated Google apps and on support pages from Sprint Wireless to name just a few. We may now finally have a good idea of when it will be released. According to the latest version of LlabTooFeR‘s HTC device firmware updates schedule, Android 4.4.3 will hit the HTC One (M7) and HTC One (M8) in the May-June time frame.
Supporting earlier claims that Google is currently testing Android 4.4.3 internally, LlabTooFeR indicates that build KTU84F (yet another build number) is now undergoing “final tests” and deployment is set to begin in the “near future.”
As for other fairly recent HTC One devices such as the HTC One Max and HTC One mini, there is no information yet. It may just as easily happen as not happen. The same appears to hold true for recent HTC Desire devices. Older HTC One devices such as the HTC One X or HTC One XL have reached the EOL stage and will not be updated.
One thing is almost certain. Before we see Android 4.4.3 hit HTC devices, the update will roll out to Google’s Nexus devices as well as GPe devices including the HTC One models. This would suggest that a launch may not be far away at all now.
