We’ve already seen signs that Samsung could be readying another high-end tablet for launch. Known so far as the Samsung SM-T805 thanks to its UAProf file, it could be a smaller sibling to the Samsung Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 tablet. It has now surfaced on the GFXBench website with a number of specifications in tow.
Supporting earlier details as well as shedding more light on this new tablet, it appears that the Samsung SM-T805 will sport the following specifications:
- Processor: 1.9GHz Samsung Exynos 5 Octa with hexa-core ARM Mali-T628 GPU
- Operating system: Google Android 4.4.2 KitKat
- Other connectivity: GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
- Display: 10.5-inch WQXGA (2560×1600)
- RAM: 3GB
- Internal storage: 16GB
- Rear-facing camera: 7MP
- Front-facing camera: 2MP
These benchmarks follow an earlier report this week that suggested similar details. According to SamMobile‘s sources, the SM-T805 will be an LTE variant that will be joined by a 3G one (SM-T801) and Wi-Fi one (SM-T800). All three will sport an AMOLED display, the first on a Samsung tablet since 2011’s Galaxy Tab 7.7. It may also incorporate a number of features introduced with the Galaxy S5, including the new Ultra Power Saving Mode function.
There is no word on availability and pricing but it is likely to be another flagship level tablet with pricing to match. It could be a new Galaxy TabPRO model but that appears unlikely if only because Samsung already offers a 10.1-inch model. Unless the SM-T805 is to be its successor. It could also join the Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 as the Galaxy NotePRO 10.5.
Thanks, tipster!
