We’re not quite done with the price cut news this week. Following the 25% price cut for the Google Nexus 4 and a small price drop for the Canadian Moto X comes word of a further price adjustment that would see the Moto X go sell for $100 on contract. The information comes from the usually reliable @evleaks who also expects Motorola to launch wooden back plates around the same time.
The price cut would presumably apply to any carrier offering the Moto X. To date, that would be Rogers Wireless in Canada and AT&T and Verizon in the U.S. The cut will take sometime place in Q4 (in time for the holiday shopping season) but no specific dates were provided. There is no word on availability in Canada but it will likely depend on whether Motomaker makes it here or not.
As for the wooden back plates, @evleaks offers up an image of all four options (first spotted last week) along with further confirmation that they will sell for a US$50 premium. The four choices will be Bamboo, Teak, Ebony and Rosewood.
Drop us a note below if you’re thinking of decking out your Moto X with a wooden back plate.
