Following last month’s announcement and first trailer, Rovio today released a second Angry Birds Star Wars II trailer ahead of the game’s launch on September 19th. Voiced by none other than Ian McDiarmid, the Emperor from the Star Wars films, it asks you to “Join the Pork Side” and play as the piggies for the first time in an Angry Birds game.
The new Angry Birds installment will come with over 30 bird and pig characters from the Star Wars universe. They will all be introduced over the coming weeks through character reveal gameplay videos. The first of these will start rolling out on August 26th. They will be available later as TELEPODS, collectable figures that players will be able to place directly on their phone and tablet to bring the character into the game.
Angry Birds Star Wars II will be launch worldwide on iOS, Android, and Windows Phone 8 on September 19th. It will sell for US$0.99 (or local currency equivalent). A free ad-supported version will also be available for Android in the Google Play store. It will also be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Wii, Wii U, and Nintendo 3DS on October 29th.
