While the upcoming Motorola Moto X is garnering most of the attention, evidence continues to grow that the Google-owned manufacturer is also working with Verizon to refresh the carrier’s DROID lineup. Three devices are expected based on past leaks, including the DROID MAXX (bearing model number XT1080M) which happens to be the subject of @evleak‘s latest tweet.
The image gives us a few hints as to what we can expect. Very similar to last year’s DROID RAZR HD, it retains the carbon fiber pattern that Motorola has used on a number of its latest phones. Capacitive buttons are also on board. It also looks like the power button and volume rocker will be on the right. Sadly, the image does not give us a sense of the display’s size and there have been precious few other details leaked in the past.
It’s likely that Motorola and Verizon will unveil the new DROID lineup in time for the upcoming holiday season.
Who’s looking forward to the new DROIDs? Let us know below.
