Sony Mobile today announced that its latest flagship smartphone, the Sony Xperia Z1, is coming to Canada in mid-October. The news gets even better: It will be carried by multiple carriers including Bell, Rogers and TELUS.

Announced at the beginning of the month, the Sony Xperia Z1 is part of a new generation of smartphones that boast of impressive cameras and photo-taking abilities. It comes with Sony’s own G Lens with a 27mm wide angle, a f/2.0 aperture along with a 20.7MP 1/2.3-type CMOS Exmor RS sensor, a BIONZ mobile image processing engine and a suite of Xperia camera apps.
It also comes with a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800, LTE connectivity, a 5-inch Full HD (1080×1920) TRILUMINOS display and IP55/58 dust and waterproof certification.
The Sony Xperia Z1 will launch in mid-October, presumably alongside the already confirmed Xperia Z Ultra phablet. All three colour variants, black, white and purple, will be available but may vary by carrier. Pricing was not announced today.

Sony’s “WALKMAN” and Movies applications are also included and provide access to more than 22 million songs on the “WALKMAN” app through Music Unlimited and more than 150K movies and TV series on the Movies app through Video Unlimited2 from Sony Entertainment Network.
