The Samsung SM-T900 and SM-T905 recently surfaced on India’s Zauba shipment tracking database. The entries for the tablets gave no information about either device beyond identifying that they were R&D prototypes. With the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 expected to carry model number SM-P90x, we figured that the SM-T90x could be the rumoured 13.3-inch tablet that Samsung is reportedly working on. But new Zauba database entries have revealed that the Samsung SM-T905 also comes with a 12.2-inch display.
It now appears that Samsung has several 12.2-inch tablets in the works. Furthermore, both the P- and T-series show the same unit price, suggesting that they may not be very different after all. Then again, the unit price of prototypes may have little bearing on the street price. Ignoring price for a moment, could Samsung be thinking of offering one variant with its S Pen technology and one without? With larger-sized tablets still being much of an unknown when it comes to how they will sell, it may well want to see which of these customers prefer.
Aside from the screen size, the shipping entries reveal only that these tablets are intended for “testing and evaluation purposes.”
