Samsung last week confirmed that it will hold a press event called Unpacked 2013 Episode 2 on September 4th. Without revealing what is planned, Samsung asked us to “Note the date,” a good hint that it plans on unveiling the Samsung Galaxy Note III. It may in fact unveil two models of its latest Note phablet, according to SamMobile. The two variants will come with model numbers SM-N900 and SM-N9005. The two devices will have the following specifications in common:
- Operating system: Google Android 4.3 Jelly Bean
- Display: 5.68 inch Full HD (1920×1080) Super AMOLED
- Internal storage: 16/32/64GB
- External storage: MicroSD cards up to 64GB
- Rear-facing camera: 13MP with Optical Image Stabilisation
- Battery: 3,200mAh
The SM-N900 will also come with Samsung’s new 1.8GHz octa-core Exynos 5420 processor with a ARM Mali-T628 GPU while the SM-N9005’s processor still is unconfirmed. The latter will also come with 3GB of RAM and LTE connectivity while the former will not support LTE.
Despite there being three storage options, the report suggests that the 32GB model will be the most commonly available. Only a few markets will see the 64GB version.
The report adds that, despite its larger display, the Samsung Galaxy Note III will be the same size as the Note II.
All should be revealed at Unpacked 2013 Episode 2.
