The smartwatch wars are well and truly underway.
Following the crowdfunded Pebble, Sony announced the waterproof SmartWatch 2 earlier this summer. Samsung yesterday unveiled the Galaxy Gear which even packs a 1.9MP camera. Qualcomm followed that up with its own Toq smartwatch with a Mirasol always-on display and battery life that promises to eclipse that of the Galaxy Gear. And don’t rule out the rumours that Apple is working on its own iWatch along with a bevy of other manufacturers including Google, Microsoft and Motorola.
