Nokia’s expected entry into the increasingly crowded phablet market is the rumoured Nokia Lumia 1520 (better known by its Nokia Bandit codename). A leaked image obtained by WPCentral reportedly gives us our first glimpse at the upcoming 6-inch display smartphone next to a smaller Android device.
While there are no details to go with the new image, it does match up nicely with an earlier one that showed a Nokia-branded display assembly with very thin bezels. It also confirms that the latest version of Windows Phone 8 will support a third column of Live Tiles on the Start screen. The Lumia 1520 (in a smart-looking red coat) also appears to be sitting in what could be a Nokia flip case.
Past rumours have suggested that the Nokia Lumia 1520 will come with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, Windows Phone 8 GDR3 (with support for multi-core processors and 1080p displays), a 6-inch FHD (1080×1920) display, a 20MP camera and a polycarbonate body with a slight bump for the camera (much like on the Nokia Lumia 925).
The Nokia Lumia 1520 is expected to launch in November with AT&T and other carriers. No Canadian carriers have yet been named but with the Nokia Lumia 1020 getting picked up by more than one, it is likely that we will see it here with at least one of them.
