Nokia is hosting a press event on July 7th where it is widely expected to unveil the first Lumia device to sport a 41MP PureView camera sensor. Codenamed EOS during development, @evleaks today tweeted that the device will launch as the Nokia Lumia 1020.

Past rumours have suggested that the 41MP camera sensor will be similar to the one that came with the Symbian-Powered Nokia PureView 808 but will sport a number of improvements.
While the camera will be the highlight of this device, the Nokia EOS will reportedly also come with a 4.5-inch HD (720×1280) or WXGA (768×1280) AMOLED display and either a polycarbonate or, as more recent rumours have suggested, an aluminum body. It could launch as an AT&T exclusive before going global some time later.
Nokia’s July 11th event will be webcast via Nokia’s Conversations blog for those not travelling. The event starts at 1100 ET.
