A leak only days ago gave us not only specifications for the next-generation Google Nexus 7 but also pictures, a short video and list prices. New information obtained by Engadget confirms many of those details and adds that the new tablet will go on sale on July 31st at Staples. This could be also be the launch on Google Play although it could also go up there as early as the day of its announcement.
In terms of specifications, the new report suggests a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, Google Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, a 7-inch display, a 5MP rear camera and a 1.2MP front camera. It also identifies two “key features” on the new tablet: Slim Port 1080p output and wireless charging. Those might help explain why the price is set to go up slightly over the current model.
Google is hosting an event on July 24th. It has not provided any hints as to what is on the agenda bu it is widely expected that the company will unveil Android 4.3 along with the new Google Nexus 7 tablet.
If previous pricing rumours hold, the Google Nexus 7 will sell for US$229 with 16GB of internal storage and US$269 with 32GB.
