There is more good news from the Motorola camp today. Following the earlier than expected U.S. launch of the Moto G (albeit only directly from Motorola) comes word that the wooden backplates for the Moto X will be available in time for the holiday shopping season.
According to Reuters reporter Sinead Carew, Motorola will launch them in the “coming weeks.” Unfortunately, it does not appear that they will not be available in time for Thanksgiving and the ensuing Black Friday/Cybermonday shopping mayhem.
@Motorola says wood-backed #Motx will miss Thanksgiving but arrives in coming weeks in time for some holiday shopping

Based on earlier rumours, we can expect four choices for the Moto X wooden backplates: Teak, Ebony, Rosewood and Bamboo. All are expected to sell for an additional US$50 and be available through Motorola’s Moto Maker. Given that Moto Maker is still not available in Canada , it is highly unlikely that we will see them here.
Motorola has yet to officially confirm this news so we’ll keep it in the rumours folder until a formal announcement is made.
