Apple is widely expected to unveil the iPhone 5C next month as a lower-priced alternative to the iPhone 5S. More images have now leaked ahead of its official unveiling. Unlike most blurry leaks, these images are quite clear and give us a good look at the white version of the back housing of the iPhone 5C.

There are no new details to go with the images but a separate report suggests that the iPhone 5C may actually launch as the iPhone 5M. UBS analyst Steve Milunovich calls the upcoming lower-cost iPhone the “iPhone 5M” in a research note. Whatever it is called, he expects that it will account for only 3 percent of total iPhones sold this year (given its late launch) but will rise to account for 53 percent of iPhone sales in 2014 with iPhone 5C/5M shipments as high as 92 million units. UBS also expects that the iPhone 5C/5M will sell for about US$379.
