Logitech is the latest to announce new accessories for the upcoming Apple iPad Air tablet. It unveiled three new keyboard accessories along with a new case. All three keyboards connect via Bluetooth and sport “maximized key size for a fast and fluid typing experience.”
“We’ve carefully designed these new products to perfectly complement the aesthetics of the new thinner and lighter iPad Air,” said Mike Culver, vice president and general manager of mobility at Logitech. “From integrating a comfortable view stand in our folios to delivering Logitech’s superior typing experience in our keyboard products, we’ve paid close attention to every product detail in this lineup. Even the color and size of the new Ultrathin Keyboard Cover perfectly match the size and external colors of the new iPad to deliver beautiful protection iPad users expect and appreciate from Logitech.”
As the name implies, the Logitech FabricSkin Keyboard Folio is a folio case with an integrated keyboard. A water-repellent coating protects the front and back of the iPad when in the case while the interior features a full-size key keyboard “fused into the folio’s interior fabric.” Hidden magnets hold the iPad in position a rechargeable battery offers up to three months of battery life. It will sell for €149 (about CA$215).
The Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Cover is billed as “the other half of Apple’s newest iPad.” This aluminium cover doubles as a wireless keyboard with a magnetic groove to hold the iPad upright. When done, the keyboard clips onto the iPad to act as a protective cover using magnetic clips. Available in Black, White, Silver and Purple, it will sell for €99.99 (about CA$140).
The Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Folio comes with a full-size key keyboard and a dual-view stand that holds the iPad upright for typing or flat for browsing and viewing content. It also uses the SecureLock system to keep the iPad securely in the case. Available in Carbon Black, Midnight Navy, Mars Red Orange, Gloss Veil, it will sell for €99.99 (about CA$140).
Logitech’s new keyboards for the iPad Air will be available starting in November in the U.S., Europe and select countries in Asia. There is no word yet on Canadian availability.
For those who don’t need a keyboard, Logitech also announced the Logitech Folio Protective Case. It sports water-repellent skin for two-sided protection against bumps, scratches sand spills. It also uses the SecureLock system to hold the iPad securely to its frame. It can also work as an adjustable stand. It will sell for €49.99 (about CA$70).
