The LG-V510 is again the topic of rumours. Initially thought to perhaps be the rumoured Google Nexus 8, recent rumours suggested it would instead be an LG-built Google Nexus 10 (which once again failed to materialize on CyberMonday). A leaked service manual now suggests it could be the Nexus 8 after all.
Details contained in the manual indicate that the LG-V510 has the same 8.3-inch display WUXGA (1920×1200/273PPI) display as the LG G Pad 8.3 which was announced in September. It also looks to come with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage, a 5MP rear-facing camera, a 1.3MP front-facing camera and a 4,600mAh battery. Dimensions are listed as 216.8 by 126.5 by 8.3 millimeters. At this point, it appears to be identical to the LG G Pad 8.3 which bears model number LG-V500. Given that we don’t have a ll the specifications, there could still be some differences though.
It should be noted that the service manual makes no mention of a Nexus device. Assuming the leak is legitimate, it’s still not confirmed that this is the Nexus 8, let alone any other Nexus device.
But if it is the Nexus 8, it is still unclear at this point when Google could release it. A launch in 2013 appears unlikely now. Could an announcement be in the cards for either CES 2014 or MWC 2014? It’s not Google’s style but stranger things have happened…
