Following an earlier report that LG was readying a successor to its LG Optimus Vu II, LG itself is teasing the upcoming LG Vu 3 (the Optimus branding has been dropped), showing it in a pair of semi-transparent QuickView cases on a Korean LG microsite.
The miages show the LG Vu 3 in black and gray cases. The cases are transparent enough to show animated notifications for incoming calls, alarms and a clock to show through without having to open the case.
An earlier report suggested that the LG Vu 3 will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, a 5.2-inch display with a 4:3 aspect ratio, LTE-Advanced cellular connectivity and stylus support.
The LG VU 3 is expected to launch in Korea with KT Telecom, SK Telecom and LG U+ in Korea in the coming months. There is no word on availability beyond Korea at this point. It is expected to sell for less than the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
