LG today effectively confirmed that it is getting ready to get back into the tablet market. A teaser video called “LG G Pad 8.3 : Teaser film” asks “What would make a tablet just right for you?” and follows LG cameras as they ask the question to different people. Initial answers are all about what does not work before shifting over to what people are looking for. As they answer, we start to get an idea of what LG is getting ready to launch.
What do people want in their tablet? How about easy to use, fast performance (for example, opening and closing apps), lightweight, small enough for a pocket but still large enough to enjoy a movie on, full HD and easy access to other devices and data.
Picking up the “Just right for you” tagline we saw with the LG G2, the video ends with the tablet’s name: the LG Pad 8.3. The 8.3 is presumably the size of the display. If so, it would fit the bill for not being too small (the 7-inch tablets) or too large (the 10-inch tablets).
There is no word on when LG could announce the G Pad 8.3. With IFA 2013 right around the corner, the timing of the video suggests we could see an announcement in early September.
