The LG Optimus G Pro is indeed real and is headed to Japan. It was announced earlier today by carrier NTT DoCoMo as one of the devices in its spring 2013 device lineup. Bearing model number L-04E with the carrier, it sports a number of improvements over the LG Optimus G including a faster processor and a larger higher-resolution display.

NTT DoCoMo will launch the LG Optimus G Pro in early April. Pricing was not announced. It remains to be seen what LG’s plans are for the device outside of Japan. With the LG Optimus G only months old, it may decide to hold off releasing the LG Pro in markets where the Pro is available. Maybe more will be revealed at MWC 2013 in just weeks.
