When the LG D820 landed at the FCC last week, many were quick to suggest that it was none other than the upcoming Google Nexus 5. With a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, a 4.96-inch display, pentaband LTE (bands 4, 5, 17, 25, 26) along with TD-LTE 2600 (band 41) connectivity, GPS, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, a 2,300mAh battery and wireless charging, it was certainly a plausible theory until @evleaks threw some cold water on it. But then he changed his mind today. And now the LG D821 has landed at the FCC as well.
The documents reveal that the LG D821 comes with LTE (bands 5 and 7), WCDMA (850/1700/1900MHz) and GSM (850/1900MHZ) connectivity along with dual-channel Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC. Nowhere in the documents is there any mention of CDMA, contradicting the specifications @evleaks had provided.
With no additional details, it is still not clear exactly what the the LG D821 is. But it could well be an LG G2 variant with GSM cellular antennae support, leaving the LG D820 to be the Nexus 5 after all.
