It’s not often that @evleaks gets it wrong but it does happen. For example, there was the time that he indicated that the Nokia Lumia 1020 would launch as the Lumia 909. It now looks like he got another one wrong. Only days ago, he claimed that the LG D820 and LG D821 were not the Google Nexus 5 as many were surmising. He’s now backtracking on his earlier tweet that the two are simply LG G2 variants.
Happy to say it looks like I was wrong about the LG D820/D821…

Unfortunately, the situation is still not 100% clear. Based on its dimensions, the LG D820 does appear to be a different device whereas the leaked specifications of the LG D821 suggest that it’s a close cousin to the LG G2. Could two devices with nearly identical model numbers be so different? It’s not unheard of but it’s not not the norm either. Perhaps future rumours can shed more light on this.
Google is expected to unveil its latest Nexus smartphone sometime in October with a possible launch on October 31st.
