The Samsung Galaxy Round today has some competition. LG formally announced its first smartphone with a curved display, the LG G Flex. LG claims that its curvature from top to bottom will help a more immersive feel when watching movies and videos as well as place the microphone and speaker as close to the mouth and ear as possible to enhance quality of the call.
Like the LG G2, the LG G Flex sports control buttons on the back. It also has a self-healing ability that LG compares to Wolverine’s healing power. It will apparently let the back cover can apparently heal or remove “light scratches.”
The LG G2 also comes with a number of software add-ons, including dual-window support, a swing lockscreen where the wallpaper can respond to the phone rocking, Q Theatre to open multimedia apps right from the lockscreen, and more.
