Lenovo is no stranger to the tablet market. It recently launched the Yoga 8 and Yoga 10 tablets with a rather unique kickstand design with the help of its latest Lenovo product engineer, Ashton Kutcher. Both are relatively inexpensive tablets with quad-core MediaTek MT8125 processors and WXGA (1280×800) displays. The company may have loftier ambitions for its next models though.
The Lenovo B8080 has now popped up on the GFXBench website with details suggesting a tablet with better specifications than the current Yoga ones. Details revealed include a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (MSM8226) processor, Google Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and a Full HD (1920×1080) display.
Whether the Lenovo B8080 is indeed a new Yoga tablet or part of a different line remains to be seen though. While the specifications do stand above those of the current Yoga tablets, Lenovo appears to once again be aiming at an affordable price point and competing tablets such as the Google Nexus 7.
There is no word yet on availability and pricing. Perhaps we will learn more at CES 2014.
