Samsung is not the only manufacturer set to unveil new devices at IFA 2013. Sony has also staked out the September 4th date for an announcement. While Sony has not provided any details, it is widely expected to unveil the Xperia i1 Honami smartphone. A new invitation leaked by Chinese website Digi-Wo effectively confirms this.
The invitation reveals only a few details, showing a purple-coloured Xperia i1 in shadowy profile. While it could be nothing more than the lighting, the edges of the device appear to be more rounded than we have seen of late on Xperia devices and other leaked images of the device itself. A closer look reveals the distinctive Sony power button, a volume rocker and a flap (for the storage card?).
There are no specification details to go with the image. Past rumours have suggested that the Sony Honami will come with a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, LTE connectivity, a 5-inch FHD (1080×1920) Triluminos display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage and a 20.7MP camera with Exmor RS sensor and Sony G-lens. It should also be dustproof and waterproof like the Xperia Z and Xperia Z Ultra.
All should be settled in less than a month!
