Huawei has already sent out invitations to its MWC 2013 press conference. The smartphone silhouette on it suggests that the Chinese manufacturer has a few more devices to announce after unveiling the Ascend D2, Ascend Mate, and Ascend W1 last month. Among these is the Ascend P2 which is set to take on the mantle of world’s thinnest smartphone.
Along with the image, one interesting detail is revealed. The report suggests that the Ascend P2 will come with a 4.5-inch Full HD (1920×1080). Earlier rumours suggested a 5-inch HD (1280×720) IPS display along with a 1.8GHz quad-core HiSilicon K3V2 processor, a 13MP AF rear camera and a 3,000mAh battery all neatly put together in a device no thicker than 6.45 millimeters. It still sounds too good to be true!
Huawei is expected to announce the Ascend W2, the thinnest Windows Phone 8 device, alongside the Ascend P2. In terms of specifications, it should be on par with the Nokia Lumia 920 or the Windows Phone 8X by HTC.
