While all the attention may be focused on the upcoming HTC One Max phablet, the Taiwanese manufacturer has at least one other device in the works. In his latest tweet, the prolific leaker @evleaks has revealed a picture of the HTC Zara along with some specification details. In fact, it’s not the first time that we catch sight of this mid-range Android device.
Along with the picture, the following specifications are revealed:
- Processor: 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus
- Operating system: Google Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with HTC Sense 5.5
- Display: 4.5-inch qHD (540×960)
- RAM: 1GB
- Internal storage: 8GB
- External storage: MicroSD cards
- Rear-facing camera: 8MP
- Battery: 2,100mAh
There are a number of differences between these specifications and those provided by an earlier leak. Namely, the processor and the camera appear to have been downgraded.
Interestingly, the image is watermarked @urbanstrata who turns out to be none other than Jeff Gordon, Senior Global Online Communications Manager at HTC Corp. Gordon responded to the leaked image by calling it a fake and saying “@evleaks is way off his game” in a comment in response to Engadget‘s story.
The HTC Zara is expected to launch in the Q4 timeframe possibly with Sprint in the U.S. There is no word yet on pricing.
