HTC unveiled the HTC One max phablet with a 5.9-inch display earlier this week with plans to launch it across the world. While it is headed to the U.S. with Sprint and Verizon, the news for Canadians is not as good. HTC Canada has confirmed that it will not be offered north of the border. It explained its decision in the following statement:
“HTC devices differ from country to country, we work closely with carrier partners in each region to determine what is best for their consumers. Every market is different and has specific needs and demands. We consider a number of factors such as, the HTC devices currently available, the competition etc. At this time the current HTC line up of devices is sufficient for the Canadian marketplace.”
If you’ve been looking forward to getting your hands on the HTC One max in Canada, make sure you let HTC and your carrier of choice know. After all, it worked for the BlackBerry Z30 after Rogers decided not to carry it.
Unfortunate news!
