On the day that Google launched the Nexus 5, its latest Nexus smartphone, it also announced that the HP Chromebook 11 is coming to Canada on November 8. First announced in October and already on sale in the U.S., it will likely be offered through Google Play and HP Canada’s online store initially.
It is also likely to hit Canadian retailers as many, such as Best Buy and Future Shop, already sell other Chromebooks. Google is working with them to ensure that customers understand how they are different from other notebooks. “We’re working with retailers… to make sure that customers understand exactly the trade-offs they’re making,” explained Caesar Sengupta, vice-president of product development for Chrome and Chromebooks.
