After a rash of executive departures at HTC in the spring and early summer, things appeared to quiet down in recent months. Unfortunately for the beleaguered manufacturer, another executive is now leaving. After just four months on the job, Lorain Wong, Vice President and head of Global PR, has stepped down. Chief Marketing Officer Ben Ho told Bloomberg that she is leaving for personal reasons.
Wong will remain with HTC for another three or four months in a consulting role.
A number of executives have left HTC as the company’s fortunes turned sour in recent years. At least six senior executives have left in the last 2.5 years. HTC recently lost Asia CEO Lennard Hoornik, Chief Product Officer Kouji Kodera, former vice president of global communications Jason Gordon, global retail marketing manager Rebecca Rowland, director of digital marketing John Starkweather, product strategy manager Eric Lin and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Matthew Costello who stepped down in June.
It remains to be seen how this latest departure will affect HTC’s attempts at turning its fortunes around.
