What appears to be another leaked press shot has given us a better look at the Google Nexus 5 in white. Unlike the first images, this one shows it as an all-white affair with no sign of any black. The image was obtained by Chinese site CTechCN.
If accurate, this image calls into question the accuracy of the leaked retail packaging images we saw a few days back. Those showed a device very similar to the white Nexus 4, that is to say a white back and sides and a black front. I must say that this all-white model looks far better than it its two-colour sibling.
It remains to be seen if Google will launch black and white models at the same time (whenever that is) or if it will stagger the launches as it did with the Google Nexus 4. CTechCN‘s source suggests that both will be available at launch.
As for pricing, Google let the cat out of the bag a few days back. It looks like the 16GB model will sell for US$349.
If both white and black Google Nexus 5s are available at launch, which one will you go for? Let us know below.
Update: Android Police has weighed in on the matter of the white Nexus 5 and has passed judgement: This latest image is fake. It has determined that this latest image simply inverts the colours of the black image (minus the cameras, flash, and display) along with a few tone adjustments.
It would appear that the white Nexus 5 will indeed come with a black faceplate after all.
Check out Android Police for some cool new Nexus 5 shades made using the same technique.
