As anticipated, Apple today unveiled the iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S, the two models that replace the iPhone 5. Here are all the Canadian launch details.
As far as dates go, everything kicks off on September 13th when the iPhone 5C will be available for pre-orders. Interestingly, it appears that the iPhone 5S will not be available for pre-order though. Both models will then go on sale on September 20th.
Model | Capacity | Colours | Price |
---|---|---|---|
iPhone 5C | 16GB | white, red, yellow, blue, green | CA$599 |
32GB | CA$719 | ||
iPhone 5S | 16GB | space grey, gold, silver | CA$719 |
32GB | CA$819 | ||
64GB | CA$919 | ||
iPhone 4S | 8GB | black, white | CA$450 |
On the carrier side, Bell, Fido, Rogers, Telus and Virgin are all onboard. Given that Koodo, MTS and SaskTel currently carry iPhone models, it is likely that they will soon be offering the latest models as well. Carrier pricing has not been announced but expect it to fall in the range of US pricing. If so, the iPhone 5C could start as low as CA$99 and the iPhone 5S as low as $199 with contract.
There is one last key date for current iPhone owners to note: Apple will release iOS 7 on September 18th. It will be compatible with the iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, iPad mini, and iPod touch (5th generation).
