BlackBerry and Porsche Design today unveiled their latest collaboration, the all-touch Porsche Design P’9982. Billed as “uniquely designed and expertly crafted,” it combines the combines the specifications of the BlackBerry Z10 with a customized version of BlackBerry 10.2 and high-quality materials that include a satin finished stainless stell frame and a hand-wrapped genuine Italian leather back door.
“Engineered Luxury meets Powered Performance – what has been true for the first Porsche Design smartphone is even truer for the all-touch P’9982,” says Juergen Gessler, CEO of the Porsche Design Group. “Once again the collaboration with BlackBerry has led to a device that implements our Iconic Style credo without compromises. With the P’9982 we extend our range of modern luxury smartphones and establish ourselves as a market leader in this segment.”

As with the P’9981, BlackBerry 10 has been customized with Porsche Design icons and the Porsche font. It also comes with a unique PIN number so that “owners of the P’9982 will be instantly recognizable in the exclusive world of Porsche Design smartphone owners.”
The P’9982 can also be customized with additional backdoors available in fuchsia purple, blue or sandshell.
An even more exclusive version of the P’9982, limited to just 500 devices worldwide, will come with a hand-wrapped in genuine crocodile leather back door.
The BlackBerry Porsche Design P’9982 will be available as of November 21 at Porsche Design stores (presumably including Toronto’s own store), select carriers and retailers around the world. The limited Crocodile edition will follow in early December but only at the Porsche Design shop-in-shop at Harrods in London, UK.
