When BlackBerry unveiled the BlackBerry Q5 back in May, it said that it would be headed to “selected markets” in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia (including the Asia Pacific region), and Latin America. North America did not appear to feature in its plans at that time. Things appear to have changed since then.
First came word that it was headed to Fido here in Canada by the end of the summer. Now, the usually reliable @evleaks suggests it’s also headed south of the border where AT&T may soon carry it.
BlackBerry Q5 tipped for AT&T

It is not clear if BlackBerry always intended to bring the Q5 to North America or if it decided to do so when sales of the BlackBerry Z10 and Q10 failed to meet its expectations. Whatever the reason, customers in North America should soon have an inexpensive option should they want to jump on the BlackBerry 10 bandwagon.
There is still no word on exactly when we could see the BlackBerry Q5 in both Canada and the U.S.
