While BlackBerry is heavily focused on BlackBerry 10, it is readying at least one more BlackBerry 7.1 device. The BlackBerry Curve 9720 has now surfaced in a video again courtesy of Vietnamese website Tinhte.vn who also got to play with the upcoming BlackBerry A10.
Along with the video, a number of new details about the upcoming smartphone have been revealed. Made of plastic, the 9720 will come with a touchscreen display with a 480 by 360 pixel resolution with a QWERTY keyboard (along with an optical pad and function keys) below and a removable 1,450mAh battery. A new key for fast camera shooting has also been added while a new lockscreen has also been added on the software side.
Past rumours hinted that the BlackBerry 9720 would also have about 100MB of internal storage and 3G and 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity. It is expected to be about the same size as the BlackBerry Bold 9900.
There is still no word on when and where the BlackBerry Curve 9720 will launch. It is unlikely to be offered in North America and is more likely intended for emerging markets.
