Another picture of the upcoming BlackBerry 9720 has surfaced courtesy of @evleaks. While there is no new device information to go with the press render, the device’s codename has been revealed as Samoa.
Today’s images line up with the BlackBerry device seen in a video yesterday.
The BlackBerry 9720 will not run BlackBerry 10. Intended as a low-cost device for emerging markets, it will be powered by BlackBerry 7.1. Other details about the device indicate it will come with a touchscreen display with a 480 by 360 pixel resolution, a QWERTY keyboard (with an optical pad and function keys) and a removable 1,450mAh battery. It will also have a new key for fast camera shooting.
There is no word yet on when BlackBerry will launch the 9720 but it is likely to be sometime this year.
