ASUS unveiled its new Transformer Pad TF701T at IFA 2013 along with a number of other tablets and devices. It now appears that it may have an additional device ready for imminent launch. The ASUS TF502T was spotted at the FCC. Based on the model number, it’s likely to be a new Transformer Pad model and one that has yet to be announced.
The FCC documentation reveals only a few details about the new tablet. It will come with 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and a large 6,760mAh battery. The image above also suggests stereo speakers on the angled sides and a rear-facing camera, possibly with flash.
Could the ASUS TF502T be the recently announced ASUS Transformer Book Trio? While not implausible, the model number suggests instead a successor to the TF500. Based the model number, it would be a cheaper alternative to the TF701T with its 1.9GHz quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 4 and 10.1-inch WQXGA (2560×1600) IPS display.
Let’s hope for an announcement in the near future.
