The rumours that Apple would hold its next press event on October 22 have been confirmed. Press invitations are now going out. With the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C having launched, Apple’s invitation says “We still have a lot to cover.”
Apple is expected to use the event to announce its latest generation iPad tablets and new Mac PCs including new MacBook Pros along with a deeper look at the upcoming OS X 10.9 Mavericks.
On the tablet front, Apple should release its slimmer and lighter fifth generation iPad with the new 64-bit A7 processor first introduced with the iPhone 5S. It could also announce the iPad mini with Retina Display although supply challenges could make it a no-show. It remains to be seen if the iPhone 5S’ Touch ID fingerprint scanner will make it onto the iPad tablets as well.
