The Google Nexus 5’s reign as the only Android 4.4 KitKat device will have been short-lived. Google today announced that Android 4.4 KitKat updates are now rolling out for the Wi-Fi versions of its Nexus tablets, namely both the original Nexus 7 and the Nexus 7 (2013) as well as the Nexus 10.

Google also announced the update is coming “soon” to the Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 versions with mobile data as well.

Google typically staggers its rollouts to ensure that there are no nasty surprises. As a result, it may be a few days yet before you see the familiar notification but it should not be much longer than a few days. If you want, you can also manually check to see if the update is available by selecting Settings > About Phone > System Updates and clicking on ‘Check Now.’
