When Google unveiled its new Nexus 7 tablet this week, it only promised that it was coming to Canada in the “coming weeks.” Google Play still only lists the original 2012 model but you can now pre-order it through either Best Buy or Future Shop.
Google’s Nexus 7 expands on previous generation models with a sleeker, more effective tablet powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro 8064 quad-core processor with 2GB RAM for smooth connectivity to integrated Bluetooth 4.0 and mobile WiFi networks. Tap through the Google Play app store on a sharp 7″ touchscreen with up to 16GB of storage to save all the goodies you grab.
Both only offer the 16GB Wi-Fi version for CA$249.99 at this point. Both online retailers also show that the estimated shipping date is July 30th. As we write this, Best Buy indicates that it only has 69 still available for order while Future Shop warns only that “Limited Quantity Available.”
Staples.ca also shows the Google Nexus 7 (2013) on its website for CA$249.00 but it cannot be pre-ordered and currently shows as out of stock.
As for the 32GB Wi-Fi version, it is expected to sell for CA$289.99 when it becomes available.
